eric to produce digital magazine for global golf app

eric has won a competitive pitch to produce a monthly digital magazine for award-winning golf app, Golf GameBook.

Golf GameBook has more than 630,000 users globally, with golfers downloading the app so that they can not only track, record and analyse their rounds, but also use it as a golfing social network, sharing photos, videos and making comments on their playing partners’ scores and rounds.

With such a fast-growing, engaged audience, Golf GameBook has tasked eric with creating a new bespoke digital magazine, covering everything that matters to golfers – both on and off the course.

Golf GameBook appointed eric at the end of 2018, after a pitch process that began in October, involving agencies across Europe. “We look forward working with eric on this inspiring yet demanding project,” says Mikko Manerus, CEO and founder of Golf GameBook. “We value eric’s holistic know-how in digital media. More importantly their understanding and expertise in reaching our target audience with engaging content is essential to meeting our goals.”

The magazine is set to launch in Spring in Finland, before being rolled out in other markets across Europe and North America. “We’ve been big fans of Golf GameBook’s work for some time, and they’ve got a great audience of passionate, discerning golfers,” says Alex Mead, eric’s content director. “The new magazine is going to look far beyond just the 18 holes, we’re going to tailor it to the audience’s passions and interests off the course too, covering travel, fashion, tech, motoring, food and drink.”

Golf GameBook joins an ever-growing list of sport and fitness clients in the eric portfolio, which already includes Golf Traveller and Golf Travel Solutions, Aropec, Rhino, New Zealand Rugby and MCC.
