Rhino Prop Star 2017

Rhino Prop Star to be revealed at Twickenham

Rhino’s year-long search to find the Prop Star 2017 will reach its finale at Twickenham next week when Martin Johnson reveals the winner at The Varsity Match.

The campaign to find the nation’s most community-minded prop has seen rugby clubs put forward their prop heroes who have gone above and beyond.

With more than 40 nominated props appearing on Rhino’s social media channels, it ultimately went down to the decision of the all-star judging panel of British & Irish Lions Adam Jones and Jason Leonard and England’s most-capped player of all time, Rocky Clark, to choose the three-prop shortlist.

Bolton RFC’s Jon Paul Hardman, Beckenham RFC’s Paul Cleverly and Rhiannon Kennedy of Streatham-Croydon RFC were the chosen finalists who then went to the public vote, via Rhino’s hub rhino.direct.

The campaign was the brainchild of creative agency eric who also ran the project from start to finish, including creating campaign videos, below, for the three contenders.

Martin Johnson, England’s 2003 Rugby World Cup-winning captain, will announce the winner at half-time of next week’s Varsity Match at Twickenham between Oxford University and Cambridge University.

Voting is open until 11.59pm (GMT) on 5th December 2017.
